Liechtenstein supports the OSCE in reviewing draft legislation from its participating States

In 2024, Liechtenstein supports the OSCE Fund of the “Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights” for the review of legislation with CHF 80,000.

The aim of the fund is to independently review proposed legislation to ensure compliance with international human rights standards. Last year, the fund produced 35 legal opinions. The legal opinions cover the topics of democracy, elections, human rights, non-discrimination and the treatment of Roma and Sinti. The reports have an influence on legal reforms and they make an important contribution to strengthening human rights and fundamental freedoms in the OSCE area. All reports are published in the ODIHR legal database (https://www.legislationline.org/). With its support, Liechtenstein is committed to ensuring that the participating States fulfil their obligations and that the Organization is enabled to ensure the standards of respect for human rights and fundamental freedoms within the OSCE.
