Dental Hygienist

Area of activity 

The scope of practice includes performing dental cleanings and scaling, counseling patients, and providing instruction in prophylaxis.

Professional qualification/further training

The professional aptitude is possessed by those who, with a diploma recognized by the Swiss Red Cross, provide evidence of at least three years of training at a school for dental hygienists and provide evidence of at least two years of practical work as a dental hygienist in an employment relationship.

Special features

The dental hygienist is prohibited from treating high-risk medical patients or performing conduction, local or surface anesthesia.
