Law

Liechtenstein ratified the Kyoto Protocol in 2004, thereby entering into a commitment under international law to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 8% compared to 1990. Based on this treaty, a number of decisions have been taken over the years at the Conferences of the Parties to the Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP) and the Meetings of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (MOP), which must be implemented by the Parties.

In addition, as an EFTA state, Liechtenstein is an active partner in the European Economic Area (EEA) with the EU, whose legal documents in the area of the internal market consequently also apply to Liechtenstein. This applies, in particular, to Directive 2003/87/EC.

In the corresponding subfolders "National Law" and "International Law" you will find the most important legal documents on UN and EEA level respectively.
