Modernization and Expansion of eID.li

Since Thursday, February 20, 2025, the updated eID.li app is available for download in the Apple and Google app stores. Important note: With the new eID.li version, the biometric feature (Face ID and fingerprint) in the previous app will be disabled. Users must update to the new version and, after the first launch of the new eID.li app, re-enable biometric authentication in the settings!

1) The employer may not allow an employee who is subject to authorization or registration to take up a position without first ensuring that the employee is entitled to do so.

2) Subject to Art. 32 PFZG, the employer's reporting obligations are governed by the provisions on the business register.

3) In order to verify facts according to which the presence of a foreigner appears to be undesirable or contrary to the provisions of immigration law, the Migration and Passport Office or the state police may request a list of names of all employed workers from employers.

4) The employer of an EEA cross-border commuter is obliged to notify the Migration and Passport Office of the start of the employment relationship within ten days using a form.
