Office of Education

The Office of Education is responsible for planning, maintaining and further developing the school operations of all public schools in Liechtenstein. That is approximately 280 classes with 4,700 students.

It bears personnel responsibility for about 640 teachers, all school administrators and for other staff at the schools (e.g. school secretariats).

The Office of Education ensures connections to secondary schools, vocational schools, colleges and universities in Germany and abroad. It takes on tasks in international and regional cooperation, e.g. in the Swiss Conference of Education Directors (EDK), in EFTA, in the Council of Europe or in the EU.

The Office of Education supports the Government in the supervision of Liechtenstein universities and represents Liechtenstein in international bodies concerning higher education policy.

The Office of Education includes other services: The School Psychological Service, School Social Work, the Pedagogical Work Center and Special School Areas, the Center for School Media with the Didactic Media Center, the Official Publisher of Teaching Materials, the Scholarship Office, the indoor swimming pool at the Unterland School Center, and the Youth Center in Malbun.
