Travel document was stolen
Domestically
If an identification document is stolen, a report must be filed with the state police (form: https://formulare.llv.li/formserver_LP/start.do?generalid=LP_DS). With the theft report from the state police, you can apply for a new identification document at the immigration and passport office. If the old identification document is found, it may no longer be used and must be destroyed.
When abroad
Theft abroad must be reported to the nearest local police station. This notification is required, among other things, to have the local Swiss representation issue a provisional travel document for the journey home. Back in Liechtenstein, the theft abroad must be reported to the state police. They will issue a loss report for CHF 20.00. Alternatively, a loss report can be submitted free of charge using the following form (form: https://formulare.llv.li/formserver_LP/start.do?generalid=LP_DS) Only then can you apply for a new identification document. If a loss report has been filed, the old identification document may no longer be used even if it is found again and must be destroyed.
