Appeal procedure against administrative measures

Remedies

Appeals against orders issued may be lodged within 14 days of service either by way of presentation (appeal to the Road Traffic Office) or by way of complaint to the Appeals Commission for Administrative Matters, with registered office at 9490 Vaduz, Städtle 49.

An appeal must contain:

  • Designation of the contested decision
  • Explanation of whether the decision is contested in its entirety or only in individual parts, in the latter case the exact designation of the contested part
  • Reasons for appeal
  • Applications
  • Means of proof by which the grounds of appeal are to be supported and proved
  • Signature of the appellant

Decisions of the Appeals Commission for Administrative Matters may in turn be appealed within 14 days from the date of service to the Administrative Court (VGH) in 9490 Vaduz, Städtle 49 (P.O. Box Government Buildings).

During the appeal procedure, administrative measures have a suspensive effect. This means that the revoked driver's license must be deposited with the Office of Road Traffic only when the revocation order has become final. The suspensive effect is denied if the driver's license is revoked on the basis of a security measure (drug or alcohol addiction, illness)
