The scope of work includes, depending on specialized training, the performance of medical analytical laboratory tests in hematology, clinical chemistry, clinical immunology, as well as medical microbiology and medical genetics.
Specialist qualification/further training
The professional aptitude is possessed by those who have successfully completed a university degree in medicine, pharmacy, chemistry, or biology and provide evidence of further training in hematology, clinical chemistry, clinical immunology, medical microbiology, or medical genetics recognized by the Swiss Association of Directors of Medical Analytical Laboratories (FAMH) or equivalent further training. The government decides on the equivalency.
Special Features
The permit holder is required to report laboratory results indicating notifiable diseases to the Office of Public Health.
