The qualifications required by law for teachers are defined in the Lehrerdienstverordnung (LdV). For employment, training is required that meets either the requirements laid down by the Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education (EDK) or the training requirements prescribed in Austria.
If you meet the requirements for employment as a teacher and have found a suitable vacancy you can apply online via Smartrecruiters (https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/Office of Education). Please submit your application (letter of application, current CV with photo, copies of school leaving certificates, teaching qualifications and service certificates, current character reference) to the specified address(es) within the specified deadline.
On the basis of the application documents, the school inspectorate of the Office of Education, in cooperation with the school management, assesses whether all requirements for the advertised position are met. If necessary, an invitation to an interview / trial lesson will follow.

General recognition of education is no guarantee that someone will be employed by the Office of Education. In addition to the general requirements, there are different employment requirements depending on the school level and type of school (e.g. grammar school, secondary school or secondary modern school).
