From 91 days

Service providers are companies (natural or legal persons) based in the EEA that provide a temporary service in Liechtenstein using seconded persons (self-employed sole proprietors, directly employed staff or persons hired by a staff leasing company based in Switzerland or the EU/EEA). The owner of a sole proprietorship must hold EU/EEA or Swiss citizenship in order to be able to make use of the freedom to provide services.

Before commencing the provision of services, a business registration confirmation must be applied for from the Office of Economic Affairs (AVW). See Service provisiom from abroad

Duty to report to the Migration and Passport Office

  • The cross-border provision of services lasting more than 90 days only remains notifiable if the posted persons return to their place of residence every day
  • The request for confirmation of the provision of services from the 91st day must be submitted at least four weeks before the end of the 90-day period. The request can be submitted by post or by e-mail to [email protected] . In the event of a fine due to late notification, the date of receipt of the e-mail applies.   • The confirmation of service provision is issued by 31.12. of each calendar year at the latest
  • A fee of CHF 100 per person and per confirmation is charged from the 91st day for companies based in the EEA in accordance with Art. 13 para. 1 let. b of the Fees Ordinance (LGBl. 2011 No. 440).

  • A confirmation will be issued for the duration of the service provision.

Duty to obtain authorization from the Migration and Passport Office

  • The cross-border provision of services lasting more than 90 days requires a permit if the posted persons stay overnight in Liechtenstein
  • The application for a permit to provide services from the 91st day must be submitted at least four weeks before the end of the 90-day period. The application can be submitted by post or by e-mail to [email protected] . In the event of a fine due to late notification, the date of receipt of the e-mail applies.   • The authorization to provide services is issued until 31.12. of each calendar year at the latest
  • There is a right of presence in Liechtenstein for the duration of the provision of services.

  • A fee of CHF 150 is charged per person and per permit in accordance with Art. 10 para. 1 let. 1a of the Fees Ordinance (LGBl. 2016 No. 440).

  • A permit will be issued for the duration of the provision of services.
