The first energy country in the world!

The efforts have paid off. As all municipalities have met the strict requirements and achieved the Energy City label since November 2012, one goal of the Energy Strategy 2020 has been met. All municipalities in the Principality of Liechtenstein may from now on call themselves Energy City. This certificate of the sponsoring association of the same name is awarded to municipalities that exemplify and implement a sustainable energy policy. Thus, Liechtenstein is the first country in the world that may call itself "Energy Country".
