Extension of the stay
Permit holders (B, C, D) are automatically reminded by the Migration and Passport Office about 1 month before their permit expires.
On application, the permit can be extended a maximum of 3 months before it expires.
Legal basis:-
Art. 20, Art. 22 and Art. 34 of the Free Movement of Persons Act (PFZG, LGBl. 2009 No. 348) apply to EEA and CH nationals and their family members

Art. 23 and Art. 26 of the Foreign Nationals Act (AuG, LGBl. 2008 No. 311) apply to non-EEA and non-Christian nationals and their family members
Scope of application:
All nationals whose residence permit B expires and whose further stay must be extended.
Deadlines:
The application must be submitted in full and correctly to the Migration and Passport Office no later than 14 days before the residence permit expires.

General information:
Persons whose residence permits were issued in accordance with the provisions of the Foreign Nationals Act (AuG, LGBl. 2008 No. 311) are generally obliged to conclude an integration agreement. If you have any questions, please contact the Integration Officer at the Migration and Passport Office
Persons who spend the majority of their time abroad for the purpose of studying/training should use the form Retention of permit. Persons who return to Liechtenstein every day despite studying/training do not need to retain their permit. However, the daily return to Liechtenstein must be confirmed in writing (informally).
