Medication
Medications are eligible for reimbursement under mandatory health insurance if they appear on the list of specialties issued by the Federal Department of Home Affairs, as stipulated in Article 52 of the Health Insurance Ordinance.
The government holds the authority to deviate from this list, as specified in Annex 2a of the Health Insurance Ordinance. Additionally, medicines dispensed abroad are covered under certain circumstances outlined in Article 52 of the Health Insurance Ordinance.
Article 52b of the Health Insurance Ordinance outlines special regulations for co-marketing preparations. Co-marketing drugs are medications that do not differ from the basic drug except for the name and packaging. Medicinal products, for which only the more favorable retail price in relation to the basic preparation is reimbursed, are listed in Annex 2a blS of the Health Insurance Ordinance (LGBI. 2000 No. 74, available at www.gesetze.li.
