Language and reading promotion
Languages are an important part of learning at school and are incorporated into every Bureau. Without oral and written language skills, no one can succeed at school or in professional life.
The Bureau of Languages includes all sub-areas listed in the Curriculum LiLe listed sub-areas: German (incl. German as a second language), English (1st foreign language), French (2nd foreign language) and Latin.In addition, the Office of Education represents Liechtenstein at the European Centre for Modern Languages (ECML) of the Council of Europe in Graz. Early (language) support
9 municipal school locations offer weekly voluntary programs for children before kindergarten entry and their caregivers: Ruggell, Eschen-Nendeln, Gamprin, Mauren/Schaanwald, Schaan, Vaduz, Planken, Balzers and Triesen.

The basic principles for quality assurance and development at Liechtenstein schools in the compulsory school sector are contained in the Guideline for Quality Assurance and Development in the Liechtenstein School System (673 kb) of 1999. Its instruments are still valid. Some adjustments have been made, e.g. in the area of staff appraisal.
