Register a design

Liechtenstein is a member of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Deposit of Industrial Designs, revised at The Hague on November 28, 1960. The Geneva Act of July 1999 was taken into account in the revision of the Gesetz über den Schutz von Design (Designgesetz, LR 232.12), so that the legal basis for Liechtenstein's accession to the revised Hague Agreement was created.

Whoever files a design internationally obtains the protection of the Designgesetz (LR 232.12) in the same way as if he had filed the design in Liechtenstein.

International deposits valid for the member states of the Hague Agreement can be made directly with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). You can obtain the information regarding an international registration and the related forms there.

Applying for Community design protection through EUIPO

If you file your design with the EUIPO (the European Union Intellectual Property Office), your design will be protected in all member states of the European Union. Liechtenstein is therefore not covered by this application.

Application forms are available here. Filing with the EUIPO gives you protection in all member states of the European Union.
