Depending on the nationality of a person and the identification procedure, the eID.li is assigned to one of three classes.
The eID class is only relevant for cross-border registration in other EU/EEA member states, it makes no difference for registration with electronic services of the National Administration. All eID classes are technically at the same, very high level of security, use the same IT systems and the same eID.li app.
eID class A (in person at the Office)
Owners of an eID.li with class A see the Personally at the Office display in the user profile under Registration variant. This means that identification took place on site at the Migration and Passport Office. With their eID.li, the person receives access to all electronic services of the National Administration and those in other EU/EEA member states.
eID class B (nationality: LI)
Owners of an eID.li with class B will see the display Nationality: LI in the user profile under Registration variant. This means that video identification has been carried out and the person has Liechtenstein citizenship. With their eID.li, the person has access to all electronic services of the National Administration and those in other EU/EEA member states that accept at least the eIDAS trust level "substantial".
eID class C (nationality: not LI)
Owners of an eID.li with class C will see the display Nationality: not LI in the user profile under Registration variant. This means that video identification has been carried out and the person does not have Liechtenstein citizenship. With their eID.li, the person has access to all electronic services of the National Administration, but not to those of other EU/EEA member states.
How do my e-verifications get into the eID.li app? |
For each proof that is in your name according to the National Administration's registers, an e-proof is automatically entered into your eID.li app, provided that the technical requirements are met in the app. |
Which e-verifications are available? |
Currently available as digital proofs are: e-driver's license, cross-border commuter registration confirmation GMB. |
Why don't I see any e-verifications? |
Always use the latest version of the eID.li app. If the problem persists, please contact the helpdesk. |
Why does my blue paper driver's license not appear as an e-driver's license in the eID.li app? |
For data-related reasons, the blue paper driver's license is not suitable for display as digital proof in the eID.li app. |
How can I use my e-driver's license? |
Information on how to use your e-driver's license can be found on the website of the Office for Road Traffic of the Principality of Liechtenstein. |
Who is responsible for the security of my eID.li? |
Owners of an eID.li are responsible for their own security. They must ensure that unauthorized persons are not given the opportunity to use the eID.li app. The PIN or password must be kept strictly secret.
|
May someone else use my eID.li app, e.g. a family member? |
No. eID.li is the personal digital identity and may only be used by the authorized eID.li holder. It is prohibited to give the eID.li to another person for use, e.g. by handing over the mobile device and disclosing the PIN or password.
|
Where will my data be stored? |
The personal data is stored on computers of the National Administration of the Principality of Liechtenstein. The technical control data for the eID.li app is stored on computers in the European Economic Area EEA. In an online identification process, personal data is collected by the video ID service provider and transferred to the Migration and Passport Office and then deleted. |
What data is stored in the eID.li app? |
With the exception of digital proof, which must be available even in the event of a network failure, no personal data is stored in the eID.li app. Each time you register for an electronic service, the eID.li app obtains personal data from the National Administration's register and discards it immediately after registration.
|
Who has access to the data in my eID.li app? |
The eID.li app obtains the surname, first name and date of birth from the National Administration's register at the start and transfers this information to the web service during registration. The data is transmitted in encrypted form and cannot be viewed or stolen by third parties. |
What happens to the biometric data in the eID.li app? |
Devices with biometric support perform fingerprint matching or facial recognition directly on the device and not in an app. The eID.li app uses this internal biometric function and therefore never comes into possession of biometric data.
|
I have forgotten my password, what do I have to do? |
For security reasons, you must have yourself identified at the Foreigners and Passport Office, either on site in Vaduz or via online identification at https://eid.li/videoid. |
How do I block my eID.li? |
Blocking can only be requested in person at the Migration and Passport Office, either on site or by telephone on +423 236 61 41. |
What does the blocking do? |
Blocking means that the eID.li app can no longer be used. |
Can I unblock my blocked eID.li again? |
To unblock your eID.li, you must have yourself identified at the Migration and Passport Office, either on site in Vaduz or via online identification at https://eid.li/videoid. |
How can I delete my eID.li? |
The deletion can be requested at the Migration and Passport Office during office hours, either on site or by telephone on +423 236 61 41. |
What happens after deletion? |
Deletion causes the eID.li-related data to be irretrievably deleted from all National Administration systems and the eID.li can no longer be used. The deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed. |
