School social work

School social work is a free and low-threshold service offered by the Office of Education for all pupils, their parents and all school and teaching staff at public schools in Liechtenstein.

School social work is supportive and sustainable social work at school. We work according to systemic, solution-oriented principles. Our interventions are everyday and resource-oriented. And we respect and guarantee children's Legal Divisions in accordance with the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. In doing so, we take a holistic view of the life situation and potential of our stakeholders and involve them in decision-making processes.

We accompany pupils in the process of growing up, support them in coping with life in a way that is satisfying for them and promote their skills in solving personal, social and school problems.

We support and advise parents and guardians on educational issues and challenges and promote cooperation between school and home.

We offer school and teaching staff low-threshold, systemic collaboration, collegial advice and support in school development, for example in areas such as health promotion, participation and the school climate.

Counseling: Our counseling services include individual support and help with personal, social or school-related problems. This can take place in individual or group counseling sessions. We offer a safe framework for discussions and help to find solutions and develop new perspectives.

Intervention: We are quickly on hand to help resolve conflicts and support individuals, groups, classes or entire levels in crisis situations. We work actively in early detection and early intervention to prevent escalation and ensure the positive development of children and young people
Prevention: We use preventative measures to promote a positive school climate and strengthen the social skills of children and young people. We provide appropriate workshops (primary prevention), work on projects and advise teachers and school administrators.

Project work: In our project work, we deal with current topics across all school buildings and develop solutions and offers for current challenges.
