Open procedure

In principle, an open procedure is possible for any contract value. In areas where direct award or negotiated procedure are no longer permitted, an open, restricted or other procedure must be chosen.

In the area of national thresholds, contracts are usually awarded in open or restricted procedures (Article 22, paragraph 5 ÖAWG). Contracts awarded by contracting authorities in the sectors are awarded by open, restricted, negotiated, competitive dialogue or innovation partnership procedures, as appropriate (Article 33, Paragraph 1 ÖAWSG).

The open procedure is a single-stage procedure. Any interested person may, on the basis of the announcement, request the tender documents and submit a tender. An announcement must be made in all cases.
