Legal basis/instructions
Legal basis
Liechtenstein's legal basis for cadastral surveying (land register surveying) is modeled on Swiss surveying law. The cadastral survey is based on the technical principles of the Swiss national cadastral survey and its network of fixed points. However, adjustments to the specific Liechtenstein conditions have been taken into account in Liechtenstein legislation.
The current legal basis of the surveying law is the Law of 19 May 2005 on Official Surveying (Vermessungsgesetz; VermG). In execution of the Act, the Government issued the Ordinance on Official Surveying (Ordinance on Surveying; VermV) of July 21, 2005.
Technical guidelines
In addition to the legal basis, the government has issued technical guidelines for the surveying and tracking of official cadastral surveying. A detailed structure of the objects to be surveyed are defined in the Liechtenstein data catalog and described in INTERLIS.
During the execution of the work, different accuracy levels, the so-called instruction zones or tolerance levels, are taken into account. The provisions on the tolerance limits are taken unchanged from the Swiss provisions.
