Issue of residence permit (B)

Art. 19 in conjunction with Art. 22 of the Personenfreizügigkeitsgesetzes (PFZG, LGBl. 2009 No. 348) applies to EEA and CH nationals

Art. 20 in conjunction with Art. 26 of the Ausländergesetzes (AUG, LGBl. 2008 No. 311) applies to non-EEA and non-Chinese nationals
Scope of application:
All nationals who are not gainfully employed in Liechtenstein and have sufficient financial resources so that no social assistance is required.
The B permit entitles the holder to reside in Liechtenstein for more than 12 months
Deadlines:
The government decides on applications for unemployed residence once a quarter.
General information:
Any gainful employment in Liechtenstein is prohibited. Gainful employment in Liechtenstein can lead to the revocation of the residence permit.
Fees:
In the event of a positive decision by the government, the fees are based on the provisions of Art. 10 para. 1 let. a and c of the Ordinance on the Levying of Fees in the Law on Foreign Nationals (LGBl. 2011 No. 440) and amount to a total of CHF 1,060. In the event of a negative decision, CHF 80 must be collected in accordance with Art. 14 Para. 1 of the Fees Ordinance (LGBl. 2011 No. 440).
With the introduction of the new Fees Ordinance, the Migration and Passport Office charges an advance on costs of CHF 80 in accordance with Art. 7 of the Fees Ordinance (LGBl. 2011 No. 440).
