Pressure equipment
The Swiss "Ordinance on the Safety and Health Protection of Workers when Using Pressure Equipment" ( Druckgeräteverwendungsverordnung, DGVV) is applicable in Liechtenstein via the customs treaty. It regulates the requirements for the installation, operation and maintenance of pressure equipment.
The provisions of the Pressure Equipment Use Ordinance are specified in the EKAS Guideline "Pressure Equipment".
For companies subject to the Labor Code, the Pressure Equipment Use Ordinance replaces the previous ordinances concerning steam boilers (VO 25) and pressure vessels (VO 38) with regard to the use of pressure equipment. The requirements for the manufacture of pressure equipment, on the other hand, are laid down in the Pressure Equipment Ordinance and the Pressure Vessel Ordinance.
Reporting obligation
Companies must notify the Office of Economic Affairs in writing of pressure equipment before it is put into operation and in the event of significant changes. The notification can be made using this notification form. It must contain the most important information for the assessment.
Which pressure equipment must be reported?
All pressure equipment that falls within the scope of the Pressure Equipment Usage Ordinance (List of pressure equipment subject to notification, Art. 1 DGVV) must be notified. Among others, the following pressure equipment, including its equipment parts with safety function, must be reported:
- Pressure equipment subject to overheating with a concession pressure [PC] above 0.5 bar and the product of pressure and content above 200 bar x liters
- Non-overheating pressure vessels with gaseous contents with a concession pressure [PC] above 2 bar and the product of pressure and contents above 3000 bar x liter
