Our legal framework.

In the following, the Office of Personnel and Organization, as the responsible body pursuant to Art. 13 and Art. 14 of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), informs you about the manner and background of the processing of your personal data in connection with our activities. The following information applies equally to applicants, employees and retirees of the Liechtenstein National Administration, as well as other persons affected by the data processing.

The primary purpose of processing personal data is to ensure that the Office of Personnel and Organization fulfills its legal mandate. This includes the administration of the entire employment relationship. In the course of its activities the Office of Personnel and Organization processes personal data necessary for the recruitment of personnel, the establishment, administration and termination of the employment relationship and the fulfillment of related legal or contractual obligations, as well as for the provision of services.

The Office of Personnel and Organization processes and stores personal data for the entire duration of the employment relationship, unless there are shorter mandatory deletion periods for specific data. It should be noted that relationships may be for a longer period of time (e.g., continued pay, pension benefits). In addition, the duration of storage is determined by the necessity and purpose of the respective data processing. Access to your personal data is granted to those internal and external bodies that require the data to fulfill their legal or contractual duties.

The legal basis for the processing activities is derived from special legislation (in particular Art. 45 et seq. of the State Personnel Act), the Data Protection Act and the EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Further information on data protection and in particular on your rights as a data subject can be found in the data protection statement of the Liechtenstein National Administration.
