The Liechtenstein Market Surveillance and Control System (FMCS) is designed to prevent unauthorized circumvention of certain goods across the open border from Liechtenstein to Switzerland.

To achieve this objective, the Office of National Economy (AVW) receives an import notification from the Federal Customs Administration of all commercial imports of goods to recipients in Liechtenstein, which are processed at the AVW in accordance with the FMD concept.

Since all import clearances are now recorded electronically, the AVW receives these notifications electronically.
