Family support

The most important social network in society is the family. It ensures the upbringing of children, the economic livelihood of family members, and the care and nurturing of disabled, sick and elderly people.

Family support consists on the one hand of subsidies that benefit all families (e.g. birth allowances, child benefits), and on the other hand of benefits and assistance tailored to specific life situations (e.g. disability, old age). Family assistance associations: Persons of all ages who need help, care, assistance, accompaniment and advice at home are supported by the family assistance associations. The services of family assistance can be used, for example, in the event of illness of the person in charge of the household, after discharge from hospital or care and support of sick persons.
