Documents consultation forest and game
The government included the acute problem of insufficient forest regeneration in many places in the government program 2017 - 2021. By government resolution of October 25, 2017, a working group was set up to develop solutions to improve forest regeneration, with a focus on protection forests. The working group completed its activities in 2019 and submitted its final report to the steering committee. Subsequently, the report "Package of Measures to Improve Forest Regeneration - Implementation Recommendations of the Steering Committee" was taken note of by the government on February 4, 2020, and the Ministry of Interior, Education and Environment was tasked with implementing the package of measures.
The package of measures comprises a large number of individual measures which, due to the interactions between the individual measures, it is imperative that they are implemented together in order to be effective. It is the declared aim of the government to continue to work on the package of measures in its entirety and to drive it forward. The present consultation report is limited to those measures that require an amendment of the Hunting Act, without diminishing the importance of the other measures or their implementation. The core of the present bill is the introduction of a state game guard as well as the conceptual description of its tasks and competences. Furthermore, the legal basis for the designation of intensive hunting areas is to be created.
In the government's consultation report concerning the amendment of the Hunting Act (2020) cited documents can be found below:
