Online services in EU/EEA member states
Liechtenstein citizens and persons from abroad who have obtained the eID.li at the counter of the Migration and Passport Office can use it to register with electronic services of other EU/EEA member states, provided that the eID.li has been integrated by them as a registration procedure.
Liechtenstein citizens who have obtained the eID.li via video identification can use it to log in to some, but not all, online services of other EU/EEA member states, provided that the eID.li has been integrated by them as a login procedure.
Foreign nationals who have obtained the eID.li via video identification can not use it for online services of other EU/EEA member states.
Please note: For logins to electronic services in other EU/EEA member states, the biometrics of the mobile device will be deactivated in the meantime and you must log in with the eID.li app password.Carrying digital evidence
If a person has one or more proofs of identity, a digitized version is automatically available in the eID.li app. The latest data from the relevant National Administration register of persons is used for each proof.
If you are registered as the holder of a valid driving license in Liechtenstein, it will be automatically added under "Proof" when you start the eID.li app. In order for the digital driving license to be created, the person must for technical reasons already have a driving license in credit card format. The driving license remains stored in the eID.li app and can even be used in the event of a network failure.
You can find more information about the digital driver's license here.
If you are registered in Liechtenstein as the holder of a valid cross-border commuter registration confirmation GMB, this is automatically added under "Proof" when you start the eID.li app. The confirmation remains saved in the eID.li app and can also be used if the internet connection fails.
