Player protection
The purpose of the Gambling Act is to ensure safe, orderly and transparent gaming operations and to prevent the socially harmful effects of gaming.
Suspension of play
Casinos issue a gaming ban when they know or have reason to believe that a player
- is overindebted or failing to meet his or her financial obligations; or
- is risking gambling stakes that are disproportionate to his income and assets.
Players can themselves apply to the casino for a gambling ban.
The graph depicts the total of all banned players in the casinos as well as the increase in gambling bans per quarter of the current year.
