Benefits under the Asylum Act

Asylum seekers in need of assistance, temporarily admitted persons and persons in need of protection are entitled to welfare benefits in accordance with Art. 54 of the Asylum Act (AsylG). The welfare benefits and their amount are regulated in more detail in Art. 30 of the Asylum Ordinance (AsylV). Persons in care receive CHF 10 per day and families with several children receive welfare benefits of CHF 10 for the first child and CHF 7 for each additional child.

In addition to the welfare benefits, a pocket money of CHF 4 can be paid to the cared-for persons. However, there is no entitlement to pocket money. Under certain circumstances, the payment of pocket money may be refused by Flüchtlingshilfe Liechtenstein (FHL) or the Migration and Passport Office (APA) on the basis of the Asylum Ordinance, e.g. if the person comes from a safe country of origin or if they have received a deportation order.

The payment of social security benefits is governed by the relevant special legislation, unless otherwise stipulated in the Asylum Act.

The state will pay the premiums and co-payments incurred within the framework of compulsory health insurance and the costs of dental treatment, insofar as these serve to treat pain or are absolutely necessary for health reasons.
