Since the different types of name changes of children refer to different legislations, we recommend that you personally contact the Liechtenstein Civil Registry Office for detailed information.
The father gives his family name to the minor child born out of wedlock
According to the Act of 22 October 1992 on the Amendment of the General Civil Code (LGBl. 1993, No. 54, Art. 165 ABGB), the mother's husband or the father may give the minor child his family name.
In case of such a name change, please contact the Liechtenstein Civil Registry Office to make an appointment for the name change. The cost for a name change is CHF 100.00.
