Child and youth protection
The child and youth protection of the Office of Social Services aims to protect children and young people from dangers that endanger their development. It supports them and the respective responsible adults in dealing with these dangers. Topics include legal and illegal addictive substances, digital media, violence, racism, radicalization, debts, working conditions and any kind of exploitation of physical and mental immaturity.
For prevention, child and youth protection provides education, counseling and information. It networks and supports appropriate projects and initiatives.
Furthermore, the Child and Youth Protection monitors compliance with the relevant protection regulations. In the case of violations by young people, educational interventions are initiated, and in the case of violations of the law by adults, any legal measures are initiated.
