School board management

The Head of Office is responsible for the following tasks:

  • Technical, organizational and personnel management of the Office
  • Involvement in the definition of educational policy objectives in accordance with the Ministry
  • Determining the annual objectives
  • Maintaining and further developing school operations
  • Responsibility for school board submissions (consultation reports, reports and applications, draft ordinances, etc.) as instructed by the Ministry
  • Rulings and decisions in the area of responsibility (e.g. school career decisions)
  • Instance for complaints against decisions by school management and class conferences 
  • Involvement in various committees and organizations (partly chair)
  • Guidance, support and monitoring of operations in the subordinate areas
  • Public relations and external representation (in particular participation in the committees of the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Ministers of Education and the regional conferences)
  • Ensuring cooperation with parents and the Economic Affairs Division
  • Contact person
