Driving while intoxicated
If the police determine that a driver is intoxicated, they will immediately take away his/her driver's license, thereby preventing the driver from continuing his/her journey. The driver's license is forwarded with the report and the evaluation of the blood sample to the competent authority

From 2.0‰ a traffic medical driving fitness assessment will be required.
In addition to the driver's license revocation procedure, an additional criminal procedure will be conducted by the judicial authority.
Driving under the influence of medication/drugs
If driving under the influence of drugs is suspected, the police may order a blood test. The driver's license will also be taken away on the spot. A corresponding report is made for the attention of the Office for Road Traffic as well as the public prosecutor's office. Depending on the evaluation of the blood test, a traffic medical fitness to drive clarification is necessary
