Urgently Needed Emergency Aid for Yemen

Medair receives a contribution of 100,000 Swiss francs for an emergency relief project in Yemen.

The ongoing conflict and rapid economic decline in Yemen, coupled with a significant humanitarian funding crisis, are making it increasingly urgent for the most vulnerable people to receive life-saving aid. More than half of the country's population struggles to access food, clean drinking water, and basic healthcare services. Only about half of all healthcare facilities are operational.

With Liechtenstein’s contribution, Medair supports health facilities in the catchment area of two districts in the Al Dhale'e Governorate. Basic medical services will be provided in selected healthcare facilities and surrounding communities to maximize outreach and assistance in remote project areas. The healthcare services will be complemented by an integrated nutrition program aimed at identifying and treating life-threatening complications in mothers and children during pregnancy and childbirth. Additionally, by setting up appropriate play areas and creating sports and recreational activities, a contribution will be made to maintaining the well-being and mental health of children in displacement camps in the Lahj Governorate.
