A Czech-Liechtenstein school group visited the Embassy of the Principality of Liechtenstein in Vienna.
From 29 September to 4 October, a group of pupils from the Liechtenstein Grammar School in Vaduz traveled to Brno via Vienna. On September 30, the group visited the Embassy of the Principality of Liechtenstein in Vienna together with students from the Matyás-Lerch Gymnasium in Brno. They were given an insight into the historically close relations between Liechtenstein and the Czech Republic and were also informed about the embassy's other activities. The group of students also took part in a guided tour of the Liechtenstein City Palace. Afterwards, the two groups traveled on to Brno together.
In South Moravia, the participants followed in the footsteps of the Prince of Liechtenstein. Together with the Czech students, the group visited the towns of Mikulov/Nikolsburg and Austerlitz as well as the castles of Valtice/Feldsberg and Lednice/Eisgrub.
The student exchange has been taking place since 2014 and has been financed by the bilateral fund of the EEA Financial Mechanism (EEA Grants) since 2018. The EEA Grants represent the solidarity contribution of Liechtenstein, Iceland and Norway to reducing economic and social disparities within Europe. Joint projects can be financed via the so-called "bilateral fund", which is intended to strengthen bilateral relations between Liechtenstein and the recipient states. The bilateral projects between Liechtenstein and the Czech Republic have already established themselves in this regard and are regarded as prime examples of how to strengthen bilateral relations.
