In 2023, Liechtenstein's accommodation establishments (hotels, vacation apartments, youth hostels, dormitories and camping) recorded a total of 116,759 guest arrivals and 222,266 overnight stays. Compared to the previous year, this represents an increase of 13.9% in guest arrivals and 11.8% in overnight stays. With a 43.4% share of overnight stays, Switzerland was the most important country of origin (country of residence) for guests.
78.6% of overnight stays were recorded in the hotel industry in 2023. The hotel industry recorded 174,710 overnight stays. This is 6.6% more than in the previous year.Of the 174,710 overnight stays recorded in the hotel industry, 59,788 overnight stays were attributable to the Alpenhotels in Steg and Malbun. 114,922 overnight stays were recorded by hotels in the Rhine Valley.
