Scholarships for sustainable energy supply in Africa 2024

Liechtenstein is contributing CHF 70,000 to the scholarship program of the “Liechtenstein Institute for Strategic Development” to promote sustainable energy in Africa.

The program provides disadvantaged students with access to Master's programs at seven African universities. These master's programs aim to promote the development and use of renewable energy technologies and expand access to an affordable and secure electricity supply for households and businesses. This requires the development of innovative solutions to generate electricity from renewable and decentralized - also off-grid - energy sources, to supply local consumers and thus combat climate change. The scholarship holders of the program acquire specific know-how with which they can make an important contribution to combating climate change.
