Liechtenstein is supporting an OSCE project with 50,000 Swiss Francs to reduce the risk of human trafficking due to the war in Ukraine. As part of the project, which runs from 2022 to 2027, the OSCE participating states are supported in their efforts to prevent human trafficking.
In 2023, the project has facilitated a number of high-level meetings. In particular, the OSCE project has discussed concrete measures to reduce human trafficking with Ukrainian, Polish and Slovakian authorities. Consultations have also been held in the areas of policy, planning and strategy development, including the prevention and detection of human trafficking for the purpose of labor exploitation of Ukrainian refugees. Progress was also made in terms of increasing capacities to reduce the risks of human trafficking, including by organizing and conducting a high-level international conference in cooperation for over 100 law enforcement agencies.
