After the first provisional figures were published in spring with the connection figures, the Liechtenstein telecommunications market statistics are now available with complete data as of the end of 2023.
The statistics show the shift towards high-performance internet connections and the end of the national copper networks as key market developments. With the exception of connections in a regional coaxial network, all services were provided on optical fibre by the end of 2023. Already 22% of internet connections had a download capacity of at least 1 Gbit/s. The statistics now also include data on regulated wholesale services in the area of the national network infrastructure and data on the network coverage by the 5G mobile communications standard.
In addition to connections and data volumes of telephone and internet connections in the fixed network and mobile phone connections with a +423 number, the market statistics also contain information on market development based on providers, staff, turnover and investments and relate these to national figures such as inhabitants, households and buildings.
The market statistics are available on the website of the Office for Communications under the heading Market statistics.
