Vaduz (ots) -
Prime Minister Daniel Risch was in Berlin on February 21 and 22 for various appearances and media talks. He gave the keynote speech on the topic of "Agility as the key to success" at the "European Economic Outlook" conference organized by the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ). This was followed by a panel discussion with the German Federal Minister for Digital Affairs and Transport, Volker Wissing, on the topic of "What opportunities do digital solutions offer the countries of Europe?". The keynote speech and the discussion between the two ministers were rounded off with a scientific assessment by Axel Müller-Groeling, member of the Executive Board of the Frauenhofer Group. The very well-attended event, hosted by Liechtenstein Finance and the Embassy of Liechtenstein in Berlin in cooperation with the FAZ, was attended by high-profile guests, including state secretaries and members of the Bundestag, representatives of renowned think tanks and economic umbrella organizations, such as the Foundation for Science and Politics, the German Economic Institute, the International Economic Council, the German Retail Association and the Federal Association of the Digital Economy.
Prime Minister Risch also used the visit to Berlin for various interviews and background discussions, including with Gabor Steingart's innovative media house "The Pioneer" on the Spree and the podcast team from "unter 3", the joint ARD and ZDF channel Phoenix. "The Pioneer" is known nationwide for its political podcasts on current issues and is the winner of the German Podcast Award 2023. Phoenix's "unter 3" format, on the other hand, brings together the "who's who" of Germany's political elite for a fortnightly discussion and is hosted by well-known journalist Erhard Scherfer and political scientist Thorsten Faas. In the interview, the Prime Minister and the two podcast hosts discussed, among other things, the good, stable Economic Affairs Division for the development of Liechtenstein-based companies, the transformation of the financial center, the political decision-making process and the shaping of Liechtenstein's foreign policy, as well as the current Council of Europe presidency. Other topics covered in the interviews were the de-bureaucratization of the administration and the cooperation between Economic Affairs Division and politics. "De-bureaucratization and the high level of service provided by the government and administration also make Liechtenstein a role model for larger countries," said the Prime Minister.
Finally, there was also a discussion with the well-known migration researcher Gerald Knaus from the European Stability Initiative (ESI), who asked the Prime Minister about the country's political system, Economic Affairs Division and foreign policy orientation for his current book project. The conversation also focused on the question of what kind of Europe we want in the future.
