Planned investments remain low

In the third quarter of 2024, the Office of Building Construction and Spatial Planning issued 206 building permits with planned construction costs totaling CHF 47.9 million. Compared to the average for the comparative period, which covers the previous three years or 12 quarters, the number of permits is average and the planned construction costs remain low. The number of projects was 1% below the average for the comparative period, while the planned construction costs were 60% below the average for the comparative period.

Planned investments rose by CHF 19.7 million to CHF 47.9 million in the quarter under review compared to Q2 2024, the second-lowest figure in the last 12 quarters. In the Infrastructure (-81%) and Industry and Services (-89%) segments, planned construction costs were significantly below the average for the same period of the previous year. In the residential sector, planned construction costs were 37% below the average for the comparative period.
