30th anniversary of the European Economic Area

As part of the EEA Council, Foreign Minister Dominique Hasler met with her Icelandic counterpart and her Norwegian counterpart as well as the EU Council Presidency, the EU Commission and the European External Action Service in Brussels on 28 May. The topics discussed at the meeting were the functioning of the EEA Agreement, the situation in Ukraine and the Middle East and the opportunities and challenges of the green transition for Europe's competitiveness. In addition, the thirtieth anniversary of the EEA Agreement was honoured with a high-level conference. On the eve of the EEA Council, the foreign ministers of Iceland and Liechtenstein and the Foreign Minister of Norway had already met for a dialogue on joint cooperation.
