Emergency generators and water filtration systems for Ukraine

Liechtenstein is supporting the Southeast European Cooperative Initiative (SECI) of the Organization for Development and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) with a contribution of CHF 100,000 for emergency aid in the Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts.

SECI is providing emergency aid in the Kherson and Mykolaiv oblasts in the areas of WASH, nutrition, health and cash assistance. The two oblasts were particularly affected by the breach of the Kakhovka dam on June 6, 2023. The humanitarian situation on the ground is still precarious today. To improve the drinking water and power supply in the region, SECI is using the Liechtenstein contribution to supply mobile water filtration systems and emergency power generators to hospitals, kindergartens and schools in the affected areas. The generators can be used to ensure the power supply for critical processes such as water pumps, cold chains or vital operations.

Liechtenstein supported the delivery of technical equipment by SECI shortly after the Kachowka dam burst on June 6, 2023. The humanitarian needs in the region, where daily missile and drone attacks characterize everyday life, remain high.
