The national consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.2% in January 2024 compared to the previous month, reaching 106.4 points (December 2020 = 100). Compared to the same month of the previous year, inflation was +1.3%. This is according to figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The Swiss consumer price index is published monthly by the Office of Statistics for Liechtenstein
The increase of 0.2% compared to the previous month is due to various factors, including higher prices for electricity and hotels. Prices for motor vehicle insurance and meals in restaurants and cafés also rose. By contrast, prices for air transport have fallen, as have those for clothing and shoes, which were reduced as part of the sale.
