A total of 42,579 motor vehicles and 4,168 trailers were on the road on June 30, 2024. In the previous year, there were 41,987 motor vehicles and 4,189 trailers.
The number of passenger cars registered by the Office for Road Traffic increased by 1.2% compared to the previous year, or 372 vehicles, to 31,333 passenger cars. As in previous years, Volkswagen was by far the most common brand with 4,326 passenger cars. It was followed by Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Toyota and Skoda. However, all with less than 3,000 cars each. By far the most frequently registered model is the Volkswagen Golf with 1,241 cars, followed by the VW Polo (717 cars), Audi A3 (582) and Toyota Yaris (526).18,083 passenger cars were petrol-powered vehicles. This makes petrol the most common fuel type with a share of around 57.7%. Diesel recorded a share of 27.0%, electric hybrids 9.7%, electric vehicles around 5.2% and other fuel types were registered with a share of 0.2%.
