Party funding
The law on the orientation of contributions to political parties regulates the financial contributions to political parties for the purposes of political education, public relations work and participation in the formation of political will. Eligible are political parties that are represented in the Parliament or have appeared in both constituencies in the last Parliamentary election and have not achieved a mandate, but at least three percent of the votes cast as a party total in the whole country.
Following the state election, the government shall determine by resolution the amount of contributions to be paid to each political party.
The application of political parties for the direction of contributions shall be submitted annually to the Financial Affairs Unit by August 31 of the year of entitlement. For the first payment of a semi-annual installment after a state election, the statutes and an excerpt from the Commercial Register Division must be submitted to the Staff Unit Financial Affairs Unit by March 31.
Based on the government's decision on setting contributions to political parties, the Financial Affairs Unit decides on the disbursement of annual contributions. If the legal requirements for payment are met, contributions are paid in semi-annual installments as of April 15 and October 15 in an election year, and as an annual installment as of October 15 during the legislative period
