Energy Commission
The Energy Commission advises the government on all energy policy matters. It monitors the energy policy environment as well as technological developments in the energy sector and continuously monitors the measures pursuant to the Energy Efficiency Act with regard to their achievement of objectives. It is also responsible for approving and granting subsidies for demonstration projects and other facilities, as well as for approving the purchase and payment of electricity for such projects and facilities. The Energy Commission may carry out information and awareness campaigns, in particular with regard to energy-efficient lighting and household appliances.
The Energy Commission shall consist of the member of the government responsible for the business sector as chairman and four other members who have special expertise in energy policy.
Energy Market Regulatory Commission
The Energy Market Regulatory Commission is a regulatory agency established by the government. It may take all measures necessary for market supervision in accordance with the law on international treaties, in particular EEA law. In addition, it advises the Government on fundamental or otherwise significant issues of electricity, natural gas and energy policy.
The Commission consists of five voting members who are appointed by the Government for four-year terms. The chairman and vice chairman are appointed by the government.
Administrative Affairs Complaints Commission
The Administrative Appeals Commission is responsible for appeals against orders and decisions in the fields of construction, road traffic, electronic communications and electronic signatures, housing, higher education, public procurement, land registry, public registry and foundation supervision, penal system, agriculture, environmental protection, and railroads.
It is composed of five members and two alternate members.
