Artificial Intelligence Act

I.           What is the Artificial Intelligence Act?

The Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA) is a comprehensive EU regulation that aims to establish an ethical and legal framework for artificial intelligence (AI) in the European Union. The AIA was developed to ensure a high level of transparency, accountability and safety in the development and use of AI systems. By establishing clear rules and standards, the AEOI aims to strengthen the trust of citizens and companies in AI technologies while protecting the rights and interests of all parties involved.

II.           What are the main objectives of the Artificial Intelligence Act?

1. Safety and trust: A key objective of the AIA could be to ensure the safety of AI systems and increase public trust in their use. This could be achieved by setting standards for the development, deployment and monitoring of AI systems to ensure that they are safe and reliable.

2. Ethics and responsibility: The AIA could also aim to promote ethical principles and responsibilities in relation to AI. This could include ensuring that AI systems are designed to be human-centric, transparent and accountable to minimize potential risks such as discrimination, bias and undesirable behavior.

3. Protection of fundamental rights: The AEOI could aim to protect the fundamental rights of citizens, in particular with regard to privacy, data protection and non-discrimination. This could be achieved by establishing clear rules and standards for the handling of personal data and the prevention of discrimination by AI systems.
