The Liechtenstein Economic Affairs Division was already back in full swing in 2021, growing faster than it had for years.
Liechtenstein's gross domestic product (GDP) amounted to around CHF 7.0 billion in 2021. Compared to the previous year, nominal GDP rose by 17.2%. This significant increase followed the GDP slump of 6.0% in 2020, the year of the pandemic, and a decline of 2.3% in 2019. GDP measures the production output of a country. Gross national income (GNI), on the other hand, increased by 0.6% in 2021 to around CHF 6.5 billion. GNI includes the income of companies, the state and residents from work and property.
