The national consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.1% in September 2023 compared to the previous month, reaching 106.3 points (December 2020 = 100). Compared to the same month of the previous year, inflation was +1.7%. These are the figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).
The decline of 0.1% compared to the previous month is due to various factors, including lower prices for the hotel and para-hotel industry. Prices for air travel and for domestic and international package tours also fell. In contrast, prices for leisure courses, fuel and heating oil rose, as did those for clothing and shoes.
