National consumer price index in October 2023

The national consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.1% in October 2023 compared to the previous month, reaching 106.4 points (December 2020 = 100). Compared to the same month of the previous year, inflation was +1.7%. This is according to figures from the Federal Statistical Office (FSO).

The increase of 0.1% compared to the previous month is due to various factors, including higher prices for heating oil and air travel. Prices for coats and jackets for women and for foreign red wine also rose. Prices for the hotel industry and petrol, on the other hand, have fallen, as have those for fruit and vegetables.
